With your eyes are closed, recite ‘Allahu’ in the following manner: breathe in through your nose, reciting “Allah” in your mind, then recite “Hu” as you exhale back out through your nose again. In this way, your heart does the dhikr of Allah through His Divine Name, thus it is also referred to as qalbi dhikr (i.e. dhikr of the heart). Whilst doing this, you may also visualise the words ‘Allah’ and ‘Muhammad’ engraved onto your heart, to strengthen the focus and purity of the heart.
